I grew up with a love and appreciation for all things vintage, antique, and unique. From a very young age, I learned how to shop garage sales with my Grandma Joyce. She taught me about the thrill of the hunt and how to bargain. I quickly learned that behind every piece we came across was a memory that someone held on to.
I vividly remember the ornate dishes that my Grandma Arlyle had out every Christmas with hard candies. You know the ones - green and red, with a splash of pink and white. My favorite were the pearl pink and I was quick to grab some before the rest of the cousins came running. Those crystal dishes still take me right back to being a kid and experiencing the magic of Christmas.
Decades later, my husband and I now love finding unique vintage pieces and filling our home with the beauty and memories that they come with. I have two teenage boys and I want them to always remember these special pieces, like grandma's china that we take out every Thanksgiving. I want them to be able to tie those pieces to memories and those memories to a feeling of love and of joy.
Vintage pieces are a bit like vinyl albums - it feels like you're being wrapped in a warm embrace from a dear friend. It's a feeling that you can't replace with anything else.
My hope with Vintage Memories is to share these pieces with you and fill the tables and hearts at your events with a touch of charm and love from days past.
